- A catalyst to encourage year-round recycling in cities, businesses, and organizations.
- A new tool to reinvigorate existing recycling programs and increase recovery of recyclables.
- A way to recognize the remarkable recycling achievements made in cities across the country.
Start spring cleaning by clearing out your files in an environmentally friendly way! The City of South Bend, the Solid Waste Management District of St. Joseph County, Waste Management, Inc., and Central Files invite the entire community including businesses, non-profit organizations, households, churches, schools and individuals to help increase the amount of paper that is diverted from landfills by participating in the Annual Clean Your Files Day.
Bring your paper to be recycled by the car load or truck load to the College Football Hall of Fame, located in downtown South Bend. All paper will be recycled at Waste Management, Inc. You may bring up to 100 lbs. (approx. 2-3 file boxes) of secure documents to the collection site to be shredded for free. Secure documents over 100 lbs. may be taken directly to Central Files, Inc. at 922 S. Main St., South Bend.
